Don't Short Change Thunder Bay
NDP Leader Andrea Hogarth announcing support for Thunder Bay during flood June 2012
Sadly the committee came up short,
managing to raise 1.2 million dollars which was disappointment to
many. The next disappointment came when the provincial government
announced that would only give 20 cents for every dollar raise,
instead of the 2 dollar match that had previously been promised.
Yesterday, however, both NDP Leader
Andrea who promised that “Thunder Bay will not be forgotten” and
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne brought up the issue in the Ontario
house of commons. Both Leaders demanded to know why Thunder Bay is
being “shortchanged”, and why the government is not giving the
promised amount to a city that is still struggling. The video was
released on youtube and has over 120 views already considering it is
an Ontario Caucasus meeting, which are not the most popular video's
on the site.
