Thunder Bay Flood Damage- Not just in the East End

Most of the coverage of the flooding in Thunder Bay, Ontario has been on the damage in the part of the city known of as the "East End". There are, however, residents in other parts of the city that have had their homes damaged by the flood as well. Many University Drive residents had their basements flooded as did residents on the Port Arthur side of the city on First Avenue. The majority of residents spoken with in these areas said they thankfully had insurance, no sewage back up and that clean up was already underway.

  1. None of the people we spoke with in either Northward or PA said they had any sewage back up when asked. Doesn't mean there wasn't, just that no one where we were reported any.

  2. Are those cabinets now unusable? I think they could still be saved. If those cabinets have a toe kick drawer, it will be the perfect place to blow dry them. Also, don't forget to blow dry those tiny holes. The sewage back-up is definitely something to inform your community leaders about.
